Multi-Purpose Hall

1.      DEFINITION

“Club” means the Sarawak Club.

“Committee” means the Management Committee.

“MPH” means the Multi-Purpose Hall

“SST” means Sales and Service Tax.

 

2.      USE OF MULTI-PURPOSE HALL

All members of the Club as defined under Rule 7 read in conjunction of Rule 8 of the Club Rules are eligible to make use of the Multi-Purpose Hall subject to these bye-laws.

 

3.      OPERATING HOURS

The Hall is open for use between 8.00am to 9.30pm.

 

4.      BOOKING OF BADMINTON COURTS

   

A.     Courts are available for booking as follows:

Monday to Friday

6.00pm – 9.30pm

Saturday

6.00pm – 9.30pm

Sunday

6.00pm – 9.30pm

 

B.     The charge is RM8.00+SST per hour per court.

C.      Bookings can be made up to one (1) week in advance on first come first served basis.

D.     Bookings made on a daily basis are restricted to one (1) hour per session provided in the event free courts are available; any member is allowed to book a further one hour Bookings on hourly basis are as per format provided for from time to time by the Badminton Sub-Committee appointed by the Management Committee.

E.      Booking of court is strictly through the Club’s App.

F.      Members who fail to show up for their booking will still be charged the full amount of the booking.

G.     Any cancellation must be communicated to the Sports Counter with at least four (4) hours notice period before the start of the booking.

H.     If the member reserving the court does not occupy it within ten (10) minutes after the time stated in the booking register, the member will still be charged but the court may be used by other members subject to paying the appropriate charges.

 

5.      CANCELLATION OF BOOKING

The Committee reserves the right to book or cancel any booking of the MPH for the purpose of coaching of members, holding competition, friendly matches between the Club and other organization, exhibition matches, local and national badminton championship or any other activity or holding of the functions as the Committee may deem fit.

 

6.      GUESTS

Members bringing in guests to use the Multi-Purpose Hall must comply with Rule 39 and will be charged RM10.00+SST per guest per day. Members shall be responsible for the observance of the Club Rules and Bye-laws by their guests.

 

7.      SHOES

All members and their guests are required to use only non-marking shoes. Leather soled shoes and ladies high-heeled shoes are strictly prohibited in the Multi-Purpose Hall.

 

8.      FOOD, DRINK AND SMOKING

Food, drink and smoking are strictly prohibited in the Multi-Purpose Hall except otherwise allowed by the Management Committee in writing.

 

9.      DAMAGE

Any damage caused to the Multi-Purpose Hall or any part thereof by any member or his guests shall be made good by that member paying to the Club the costs of repairing the said damage.

 

10.   LIABILITY FOR INJURY

The Club does not hold itself liable to any injury to any member and / or his guests that may arise from the use of the Multi-Purpose Hall.

 

11.   ATTIRE

Members are required to wear appropriate clothing when playing games in the Multi-Purpose hall.

 

12.   OFFENDERS

A.     A fine of RM15.00 shall be imposed on the first offence on any member who or whose guest breach any of the bye-laws.

B.     For the second and subsequent offence, a fine of RM50.00 shall be imposed.

C.      The Committee reserves the right to suspend a habitual offender from the MPH.

 

13.   CHILDREN

Junior members and associate child members are not eligible to play during open court hours from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and during open court hours from 1.00pm and 6.00pm on Sundays and Public Holidays, except with prior consent from the Convenor.

 

14.   AMENDMENTS TO THE BYE-LAWS

The Management Committee may from time to time, add to, alter and repeal Bye-Laws for the regulation of the affairs of the club. Such Bye-laws so made, added to, altered or repealed shall come into operation and binding on members after they have been posted in the club premises for fifteen days.
